São Paulo é uma cidade de contrastes. É cruel, mas inspiradora nos mais profundos níveis. Um lugar onde o anseio por ser ouvido e a necessidade de se expressar leva alguns habitantes a tomar medidas drásticas para se afirmar em meio a tantos outros.
A pichação é um dos principais exemplos. Um veículo de expressão genuíno, com forte carga estilística (talvez mais forte em SP do que em qualquer outro lugar do planeta), e presente em todo e qualquer canto da cidade - goste você ou não.
Sou desde sempre um grande admirador desta estética, e agora juntei esta admiração com a vontade antiga de criar uma família tipográfica, e desenvolvi esta fonte, que levou o nome de SP Style. A fonte é sólida, e não pretende representar as texturas e escorridos da tinta sobre os muros. É mais um estudo morfológico do que uma simulação da pichação real.

São Paulo is a city of contrasts. It's cruel, but inspiring in the deepest levels. A place where the willing to be heard and the need to express leads some people to take drastic measures to assert itself in the midst of so many others.
The 'pichação' (brazilian lettering graffiti) is one of the most significant exemples. A genuin mean of expression, with strong stylistic load (maybe stronger in SP than anywhere elso on the planet), and present in every corner of the city - whether you like it or not.
I'm a great admiror of this aesthetics since always, and now I have joined this admiration with the old desire of creating a typographic family, and developed this font, which was called SP Style. It is a solid font, which doesn't intent to represent the textures and drips of the paint on the walls. It's more of a morphological study then a simulation of the real 'pichação'.
